It's 11:00 a.m. on a Sunday—prime brunch hour—not social hour.
We were seated, given water, and told our server would be back to take our drink and food order. Twenty-five minutes later, she never returned. Meanwhile, she seemed to have plenty of time to stand at the bar chatting with two men, one of whom appeared to be either her boyfriend or a close friend.
I completely understand when a restaurant is slammed. What I don't understand is ignoring tables during one of the busiest times of the week while entertaining friends. We never got the chance to order drinks or food because our server was apparently more invested in her conversation than her customers.
After waiting nearly half an hour just to place an order, we walked out. If you're going to spend Sunday brunch catching up with friends, maybe don't do it while your tables are sitting there wondering if they've somehow become invisible.
