Was hard to snag a reservation, but so glad we finally did! All 4 cocktails we got were so good, we ordered the exact same thing for round 2. Great flavors and very smooth/ unique.Worth the adventure to find how to get into the place. Already made another reservation.Enjoy the black toilet paper 😂

Overall, my partner and I really enjoyed this bar! We were walkins on a Thursday night and got seated at the bar quickly. Vibes were dark and smelled of incense and I was super into it. It felt cozy but also different than other speakeasies. We each got a cocktail. Jamaica Pinnacles and a mescal drink. Bartender was friendly and refilled our water without asking. Drinks were both solid and pricing was on par with other nice bars in East Austin. If I had one piece of feedback, it would be that the bar seating was not very comfortable (aka noticeably uncomfortable), I felt I was hunching over to see the menu under candle light.

Trona is the best fancy speakeasy bars in Austin and the best date night spots in east side! Although you cannot go without a reservation and it’s hard to get, but please act quickly and get the spots! you won’t regret!! The espresso is really amazing. But there is nothing to eat for food, just drinks LOL

Trona is an excellent date night go-to. Starting with the back alley entrance to the smoky cocktail bar atmosphere this place will have you feeling like you've been transported to Japan. The lighting is moody which makes for great photos and the cocktails are quite complex with many flavors. You need to make reservations ahead of time but after 10:30pm you can just "walk-in" provided that there is space available. Seating is limited so it's not great for big groups however you can still find space to split up amongst a few tables.

Trona Bar Austin, the newest bar to hit the scene, is one to visit. Cool spot with great drinks. If you can’t get a reservation, go on Monday or Tuesday or after 10PM where they allow walk-ins. Shoutout to Porscha for all your help. Next time, I’ll want to sit at the bar where the magic happens. Go check out Trona and enjoy the evening out on the town.
