Playland is the epitome of the retro skating rink. With 27,500 square feet inside there is plenty of room to invite all your family and friends to enjoy! With laser light shows and fog machines adding to the music for the skaters, stop by the concession stands for a snack or just hang out at one of their many picnic tables. Special events can be scheduled for all occasions!

The new owners suck. I heard this place got bought up by a family for profit, and they've completely sucked the soul out of this place. The remodeling they did was soulless and got rid of a lot of the personality this place used to have. They even increased general admission by THREE WHOLE DOLLARS since the last time i came here, which wasn't even a year ago. Going through the other replies here and these new owners' responses, i am incredibly disappointed by the immaturity they have so proudly displayed in response to their negative reviews.

This place used to be amazing. It used to have joy and good vibes. Now under the new owners it’s bland, white, and not a genuinely happy skate park. Do not recommend anymore.

This place will overly charge you for everything, will not offer a refund even if you deserve one, will also not fairly swap out something even if it makes sense to and won’t hurt the business financially and helps out the customer. My car also got jumped on, on top of my brand new van and now I have to go get dent repair for someone who decided to get on the roof of my car! We called and they said their cameras aren’t a clear view of the spot, we parked right in front of their entry doors! All around not a good experience. As far as skating goes, do people even work here that enforce RULES? People were standing around on the skating floor on their phones taking selfies and just talking! Some people don’t pay attention to others and almost ran over my 2 and 4 year olds. I won’t be returning.

My entire family love this place and it’s a wonderful to have a place like this in central Austin. Price is reasonable and the link is well maintained. On the minus side, The lesson package was a bit disappointing as there were too many students per instructor to get any meaningful instruction. I would have preferred to pay more to get better experience. Also it feels dangerously crowded on weekends.

I’m pretty sure every skate center since the 70s has used the same carpet and neon lights! I love this place; good tunes, well maintained rink, and good food/drink. Adult night on Tuesdays is nice if you aren’t wanting to navigate young children, but other nights are manageable.

Flying with your skates is a commitment, if not half your weight in luggage, the carry on determination.

My bestie brought me here on adult skate night, we were 39 minutes early and eager to skate. We stayed the entirety of the session 9pm-12am was glorious.

Met and jammed with humans, such a relief post Covid to be able to fall, laugh & jam out on 8 wheels.

Will be back this weekend ;)

A classic from childhood. I love being able to have these experiences with my own daughter these days. Same awesome atmosphere. Adult nights if you don't have the kiddos. You can rent skates or bring your own. You can even buy some in the lobby. Concessions and continuous music. Perfect to skate your little heart out.
