I'm writing this review for someone who might be contemplating dining here, for whom $150/person before tax and tip (closed to $200/person after) might be a sacrifice. If you have money to burn and eat out often, go for it. But if you'd need to save up or if you have finite resources to spend on fancy meals out, or if the idea of setting $150+ on fire bothers you, go elsewhere. Yes, the presentation was amazing, and visually, I was delighted by every course. Everything set before was just waiting to be photographed and posted online. Indeed, the restaurant even provides little spotlights so all dishes will look amazing on your phone. Yet it seems that most everything is sacrificed for the look; it certainly isn't for the cuisine. In fact the food was often cold or room temp, or poorly prepared, I guess so that the service team could set up whatever little plating spectacle they'd cooked up. It's so strange to visit a Michelin-vaunted restaurant that can't cook a dumpling properly, or sends out fried dishes that have been allowed to cool and therefore get slightly soggy, but here we all are. We spent the drive home laughing about the grand ridiculousness of it all, but if I'd had to save up or something, I'd have lost my mind. If you've ever been lucky enough to do a tasting menu in any major food city, skip this. This meal at this price point would never fly in a dining destination. Which is too bad, because the vibe is great and service is stellar, and I'd be happy to pay if the food warranted the price point.

This is a Chinese omakase experience that is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. They used over 100 ingredients throughout the meal, and you get a brand new set of plates and chopsticks for every single dish! I was overall super impressed with the food presentation, every single plate was so much more than just food served on a plate; it was a work of art. They welcomed us with champagne and tea pre-meal, which was a lovely touch. The opening dish was super impressive, especially when we poured the soup over it to create a stunning visual of a koi pond. The lobster, oolong smoked duck, and Wagyu beef were all incredibly tasty, and the roasted pork had perfectly crispy skin. We also absolutely loved the dessert! A huge plus is how flexible the kitchen is. They easily accommodated dietary restrictions to ensure a perfect "omakase" experience with all cooked food. We even got to meet Chef Ling! They specifically called out and celebrated birthdays and anniversaries. They even took live Polaroid photos for us during the night and gave everyone a sweet parting gift at the end. The communal table is located directly inside a working kitchen. It is a very casual, commercial environment and not a pretty setting at all, but the decorations right on the table itself are nice.

This was by far the coolest, most intimate, and well put together culinary experience I have ever been to. Personalized text before the reservation asking about food allergies/preferences, staff know’s your reservation / preferences as you walk in, food is served in the kitchen where you talk to the chefs / owner. If you love food like I do, then go here immediately

Extremely overrated! There’s nothing about this tasting menu that’s amazing. I think people in Austin are just not used to having tasting menus like most other cities the food was fine it was good not horrible but nothing that blows you away that’s why I’m giving it three stars because the food was just fine. It was very overpriced for what you get served Lings other restaurants are all much better than this

Super fun place for a great date night. It's reservation only, and there are limited seats, so you'll need to book in advance, but my wife and I had so much fun here 😄

Such a wonderful and intimate dining experience. The atmosphere was lovely and wine menu was delightful. Cavione, the host made the entire dining experience fun and exciting. I have eaten at all of Ling's major restaurants in Austin, however each unique dish was out of this world. The kitchen staff was friendly and the food was DELICIOUS! I would definitely experience this again, I have been bragging to my friends and family!

We went to their dinner experience. Amazing! From the food to the cookers. The host was so nice and funny with his bongo. There was so much food that I was sad I was so full I couldn’t enjoy the last courses so much lol…. It’s hard to choose, but my favorite course probably was the crisp shrimp with aged soy sauce. A remarkable night.

excellent breakfast venue to take your friends to or for people visiting Austin. Definitely get the migas and try the juices and smoothies. Get the pink panther and fresh squeezed orange juice. The friendly staff provides excellent service and comp my smoothie. Clean restaurant and restrooms too

We've been following Lin for a long time. This was the culminating experience. Coursed menu that touched on some faves as well as pushed us towards new things.

Excellent food and service. Small group dining really allows this place to focus on the details and give a worthwhile experience. The staff was very friendly and featured fun, fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely give back 👌🏼
