    What makes it fun

Welcome to The LINE Austin. This breathtaking space used to be a jazz club during the thriving music scene of the late 1960s and is held in high esteem by locals for that reason. Today, you can find a little bit of everything HERE as this one-of-a-kind hotel offers an eclectic mix of art, food, design and nature.

We have stayed at this property multiple times over the years, but both the rooms and service have degraded significantly over our last two stays. The floors in our room were covered in stains, the faucets leaked, there were stains on the couch, the coffee maker didn’t work, the air conditioner was set at 60 but we were sweating, and the best part - I got bitten by what look like bed bug clusters or fleas. It’s so disappointing for the price point/promise of luxury. The amenities we were charged for were ridiculous - some non-indigenous person calling herself Jaguar High Priestess was reading tarot cards and doing yoga. And finally, given the number of times we’ve stayed (we’re locals) would it be so hard to welcome us back? We are finding a new hotel for our staycations going forward.

One star — completely unacceptable experience from a so-called luxury hotel.

I stayed at The Line Hotel Austin a month ago through the Chase Edit Program, which includes a $100 property credit and daily breakfast for two. At check-in, they acknowledged these benefits, and I used them throughout the week. At checkout, I double-checked with the front desk — they assured me I didn’t owe anything. “You’re all good,” they said.

A week later, I found three unexplained charges on my card totaling over $200. I had to call and chase them down, only to be told it was a mistake and I should’ve never been charged. They eventually refunded the charges — frustrating, but I let it go.

Then, today, a *month* after my stay, another random $130 charge shows up on my card with no notice. I called again, and after another round of back-and-forth, they claimed it was for an “amenities fee” they forgot to charge earlier, and this was them “reconciling” it. No warning. No explanation in advance. Just a charge, weeks later.

For a luxury hotel, this is not just disappointing — it’s absurd. The billing errors, the lack of communication, and the fact that they feel entitled to charge your card a full month later without so much as an email is beyond unprofessional.

Never staying here again. Total mess and a massive headache.

I drove 3 hours for a creative retreat at the LINE. I had never been here before. Upon arriving Carlos, the kind gentleman working valet was so kind and eager to help me get settled. Sadly, once I got on the elevator it was extremely hot. I then proceeded to my room and it was very hot, stains on the floor, it didn’t feel or look clean, I didn’t last 5 minutes. I knew I couldn’t stay there. Long story short, I left and didn’t return. I was extremely disappointed and exhausted by my experience.

    Staff is nice and attentive.
Room literally had a bed on floor lumpy at that. No kind of furniture to put clothes in. Basically a tv and a bed.Stained carpet. Hot room. I get the whole less is more but dang. Felt like I just moved into my first apartment. Considering what they charge. Stayed in other hotels in area with better facilities that charge less. Mini fridge in room with probably crazy expensive refreshments was hot.Pool was OK. Needs some basic cleaning and maintenance. Wood stain and paint goes a long way. I told myself ill spend some more money this time around to feel a little more luxurious but nah. I made a bad choice. You live and you learn. Location is great tho. Whoever the photographer was got me. Fool me once. Gotta be some kind of checklist thats not being checked.

My girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary. Instantly, we realized how close in proximity to the hotel that everything around Austin is. Immediate access to the Ladybird trail, across the bridge from South Congress St, etc. The room was nothing short of beautiful and view we had of the lake was more than impressive. We received a knock on our door an hour or two after checking in. It was a man from the front desk (who wore a striped shirt but forgot his name) who had a champagne bottle bucket with ice as well as 2 glasses and a hand written letter congratulating us on our anniversary. Another man at the front desk went to the bar and got us 2 wine glasses when we asked as well. The front desk service as well as the room service was impeccable. The pool was perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone and we feel beyond appreciated by how we were treated

Let me start by saying I absolutely LOVE The LINE! The rooms are so unique and fun, and the location is PERFECT!

My husband and I just got married this past weekend, and we booked a suite to say in for the long weekend as a staycation/mini honeymoon before our official trip. They took care of everything we needed and they made it so special for us!

The rooms are retro and so aesthetically pleasing, and the views are so beautiful! The on site bars and restaurants are some of Austin's best and so easily accessible. I want to book a week long staycation just to hang out in the lobby and at the pool, I love it here so much!

Thank you so much to the amazing front desk team for making our stay so special! We will definitely be back! :)

Decent hotel, decent stay. Of course, good location-- almost everything is in walking distance. Staff was very kind. I definitely think the employees up front need something to sit down on, they look a little uncomfortable.

The suites are updated and comfortable, . The beds are very close to the floor, which make standing up difficult for elderly (me). The hotel is along the senic trail riverwalk.. awesome! Didn't find any oversize parking nearby.

Bailey (nice lady at the front desk) was AWESOME!

The room was nice. Clean. Great location. Fee's for resort, parking is $50 per night (alternative is street), and there's amenities fee's.

My king bed room was advertised for $189. Only stayed for 1 night and with parking spent about $315. Beware of that detail.

Front desk lady was very helpful.

    TOO MANY FEE"S, Jesus!

    Otherwise, decent.

Last minute trip and found The LINE in the heart of Austin priced much less than its neighbors on the river. It's a hip hotel. Rooms were clean and simple, and most important, the beds were comfortable. The swanky pool was not crowded as expected. The staff was super accommodating and nice. Only, negative, was that there's no overnight room service or snack machines (that we could find). Overnight valet a bit pricey, but they held our car over a bit the next day while we grabbed lunch after check out, which made the $49 worth it. We were traveling with pre-teens, and they loved it. We plan on returning for a longer stay.

My husband and I spent the weekend here and I must say that the experience was absolutely outstanding. The staff was very proactive and professional. The rooms were very chic and posh. The view from our room was of the river and Congress Avenue. The food at all of the restaurants was delicious! Overall everything was amazing! Anything that we needed was provided for us with a smile and courtesy which is so very hard to find these days. We greatly appreciate everything everyone did to make our stay an unforgettable one! We look forward to our next stay.

The Line is awesome! Rooms are spacious and luxurious with updated bathrooms. The amenities are top-notch and there’s a fantastic restaurant. All of the staff are super nice and help you with whatever you need. It’s super amazing they let you bring your dogs with you! Bonnie loved her stay and we’ll be back for sure.

Staying here for Mother’s Day weekend and the front desk staff (Matthias and Bella) were so lovely. They helped us check in early which was a huge plus after a long travel day! They left a great first impression, and we will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

The hotel is clean and has great restaurants. The rooms are updated and spacious, but also simple. It’s walking distance to lots of great restaurants as well.

We had an amazing stay here!! So accommodating.

My college daughter booked the room for a special mom/daughter get away. The lady who checked us in was asking about our stay and offering general information about the area and restaurant recommendations. Once she heard that we were on a mom/daughter trip, she upgraded our room with a beautiful view of the lake. This made our trip extra special and we so appreciate their generosity. Highly recommend staying here. The hotel and views are beautiful and the location is perfect for getting around Austin.

The hotel was overall very nice. The lobby was huge with a little dark ambience, which I liked. The room was clean, the view was amazing, the Low Bed was comfy (especially the pillows were awesome), and the Mini Bar was full of a great selection of drinks and snacks.

Shower water pressure was amazing, bathroom vanity was a little weird (raised and somewhat difficult to put all the items), but the sink was good deep. I would have preferred Iron and Iron board instead of the steamer.

    Bright sides:

    - Basically near enough to everything so you’re only a few blocks or a short Uber ride away from anything.
    - the coffee bar downstairs is amazing, busy though.
    - the room was spacious and the bed was okay
    - staff at the desk were v.helpful and accommodated us

    Downsides:
    - the cleaning staff were hit & miss, no guarantees that your room would be done and if it was done, the rubbish wouldn’t have been taken away
    - everything (shower, shampoo, hand gel) had a price tag on it. Smelled nice but not worth it
    - the mini bar prices were extortionate (easier to go to the 7-11 a block away)
    - the taco restaurant in house is always busy but the food was bland to me. Tried twice just to be certain
    - the brunch at P6 is not brunch, definitely skip that

Overall, it’s okay if you’re attending a conference cos it’s convenient. But I’d stay somewhere else if I was visiting Austin again.
