Avoid this place. Terrible service - while checking out yesterday, the man at the front desk wearing a bun was completely useless and rude; kept interrupting me, didn’t know how to look up my final invoice, nor could they explain the charges I have on my account from Lake Austin Spa. I noticed when another white woman approached, he was much nicer to her so it’s likely racial profiling. When I asked what a charge was on my incomplete invoice, they said “don’t worry about that.” Someone from billing named Dennis was supposed to reach out today to discuss charges and provide me with a final folio and I have yet to hear back. I’m having my credit card refund me because service is so terrible and they won’t respond to emails following up on my invoice, yet I continue to have new charges to my credit card. Staff needs training because most of the people at the front seemed very uninformed. Rooms were dirty, getting towels refreshed required walking down to the front desk because they don’t answer the phone and it still took another 45 minutes of waiting. Food was also subpar. I’ve been to wellness retreats around the world, worked in the travel/food magazine industry, and I can confidently say this place should be a pass which I will also inform my colleagues. I also got a hydrafacial and Becky damaged my skin, leaving bruises. I get monthly hydrafacial at a med spa and have never had this issue before. If you’re a luxury traveler and choosing between Miraval Austin and here, Miraval is a better experience as long as they don’t have a corporate retreat happening on property — more expansive, better views, activities and service. This property is for an old crowd who don’t mind returning to a run-down property because it feels like their tradition.

Celebrated a baby moon and my 30th birthday at Lake Austin Spa! It was such a spectacular experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by super friendly staff (Brandon) who helped us get settled in quickly and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of lake Austin. We needed help and Renee at the activity desk sent Carrie to our rescue for a quick photo moment and Paula at the boat dock was so accommodating and kind! The food was amazing! We will be back soon. Thank you for making this trip so special!

Service and staff was amazing... the location and amenities were luxurious and tranquil. My best friend and I went for massages and added the day pass to lounge around and relax and it was beautiful. We got there 2 hours before our massage which allowed us to eat a light delicious lunch in their café area. I had forgot to mention I was expecting and couldnt eat smoked meats and the blonde waitress serving us was so kind on accommodating to a fully cooked meat.
The help yourself snacks and coffee machine were nice to come and go as you please. We went up to the blue room the settle and relax before our massage and we actually decided to step out on the porch and use the rocking chairs. One at a time we were called back for our massages. After we met back in the locker rooms to change into a bathing suit and go to 1 of the 2 options they had for pools. We chose the indoor lap pool its was relaxing and quiet. I had a latte and my friend had a prosecco cocktail. We headed inside change and checked out before 5pm. The front desk staff and very nice and we just enjoyed our whole experience.

My stay was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, every detail reflected the highest level of comfort, elegance, and hospitality. The accommodations were beautifully appointed, the service was impeccable, and the overall experience exceeded every expectation. I genuinely cannot think of a single complaint. This was a truly luxurious and memorable stay, and I look forward to returning in the future.

This is a beautiful place to go relax and recharge, the ambiance is everything and more— true peace and tranquility. The rooms are lovely, the activities they offer are great and not to mention, the spa is phenomenal. Dennis, Shannon, and Stephane at the restaurant have been amazing to me since my arrival, very welcoming and kind. Service at restaurants could be improved but overall, great place to stay.

I honestly feel a little crazy writing this review, but sometimes the experience is frustrating enough that it feels worth sharing.

My husband and I spent over $1,200 here for a couples' day treatment, and overall, the experience was extremely underwhelming for the price.

The day started off good. The onboarding was fine, and our first massages were good. Lunch was pretty underwhelming, although the snacks were good.

The bigger issues started with our second services. I had booked a prenatal treatment and clearly noted that I was pregnant on my intake form. Even so, the staff did not seem prepared for that. They got a late start getting the pregnancy pillow set up, and I had to remind them not to use certain products, which was pretty concerning given that this should have been known ahead of time.

My husband’s second massage was also honestly shocking. He said the therapist was barely massaging, and he stopped multiple times to text on his phone during the service. That would be mind-blowing for a massage at any price, but especially at this price point.

Then checkout somehow made the experience even more frustrating. We had already provided a credit card at the beginning, but had to provide it again at the end, which was fine. A few hours later, I received two calls/voicemails making it sound urgent that they needed my credit card before they closed that night so they could charge me. I was at a movie and did not answer, so I called back the next day. It turned out the “urgent” issue was about a drink from lunch that they said would simply be added to our overall bill. It felt ridiculous to receive multiple urgent calls over a roughly $20 drink after spending more than $1,200 there.

And then, while reviewing my finances, I realized they DOUBLE-charged me for that same drink. LOL. At this point it seem way easier to dispute the charge with the CCC than deal with them any more.

All in all, the property itself is pretty, but the service and execution were nowhere near what I would expect at this price point. This might have felt acceptable at a much lower-cost day spa, but for over $600 per person, the experience did not come close to matching the cost. The staff and operations felt far less buttoned up than resorts and spas I’ve been to at half the price.

I ask for Lake Austin Spa gift certificates for every holiday and birthday because the staff, lakeside setting, treatments, food, and interior design are perfection and it is such a treat to get to go. I recently got to stay overnight for a girls trip to celebrate birthdays. I didn't know it could get any better until getting to stay on the property and not just visit for the day. The classes are fun and the teachers are approachable and supportive. I can't wait for my next excuse to visit this special place.

Hi JoAnn- We could not be happier. Your team has been amazing! From the front desk staff-Sarah who checked us in, to Kristi who has been like the quintessential concierge- even arranging a private mah-jong session so we could learn what all the buzz is about - to your servers like Natalie who remembered me from last Oct :) and greeted me so genuinely. My roomie is partaking of every activity. My pace is much more resorty vs her sporty self :). Loved Debbie from last night for the calligraphy - such a doll and sooo prepared and chef Susie with her extraordinary knowledge. We love it here, love our room #13 - the backyard privacy and lake view. Love the fireplace- wish it had crackling sounds. Is that even possible? Appreciate the citronella candle outside - but matches are always too damp to strike and light. Appreciate the small fridge in the room. The linens are to die for. All in all - just fabulous! It's spa day today! You know we will be back!

I love Lake Austin Spa Resort! The setting is so peaceful and beautiful — it really feels like the perfect place to reset, relax and recharge. The food is incredible, and the wellness classes are such a great way to move and connect with yourself. The treatments are some of the best I’ve ever had, and every little detail makes you feel cared for. It’s truly one of my favorite places to recharge! Thank you for having me, LASR, I always leave feeling lighter, happier, and so refreshed.

Heaven on earth. It’s one of many superlatives to describe our incredible four-night girls’ trip. It was an ideal spot to relax, reconnect, and indulge in luxury. The spa is world-class, and the treatments are incredible. We booked facials, massages, floating meditation sessions and intensive foot repair – we were so pampered that, while reluctant to leave, we left feeling relaxed, refreshed and recharged.

The energizing fitness classes, yoga sessions and morning hikes were first-rate and allowed us to indulge in the fabulous organic, farm-to-table meals and the scrumptious desserts.

The staff is exceptional and I wish I could remember everyone’s name but would like to give a shout-out to Michelle, Logan, Dave, Shana, Nette, Kathy, Bianca, Dennis, Cale and Renee as well as to everyone we interacted with while we were there. Next time I’ll be sure to write everyone’s name down, so I don’t forget.

We are already planning a return visit – can’t wait.
    Thank you.

Took my fiancé to propose here and planned it a while ahead of time. It rained the whole time we were here which isn’t their fault. On Sunday ,the only day it wasn’t raining, the water activities were closed. I asked the front desk about it and asked if there was any way that we could come back just in the day to use the water activities or anything they could do for us since we didn’t really get to use the outdoor activities on our stay. The bald guy said there was nothing they could do for us and that they did bingo and top gun movie night as replacements. I paid thousands of dollars to be here and they just shrugged their shoulders and said we don’t care. They could have gave us a day pass to come and do that stuff on another day. I don’t expect them to do anything about the rain but could have offered something nice even for a returning trip. We literally only wanted to stay here because of the outdoor activities and didn’t get to do any of them. And I chose them for a really special moment. Really disappointing how they treated me. Could have tried to do something for us for the future and wouldn’t have cost them anything. Won’t return.

I have been coming to the Lake Austin Spa for about 10 years and I hope to keep coming back for many more. I feel personally cared for and cared about. The staff and fitness instructors are awesome. I love the variety of classes, hikes and activities. Breakfast and lunch are my favorite meals—healthy and filling. Dinner specials every night. I leave feeling renewed and counting the days until I come back!

My husband died 6 months ago after a 2 year battle with cancer. I needed to take some time away and clear my head. I researched several spas before deciding on this one. My sister and I arrived early because of the weather, but we didn’t feel like we were a bother. They got our room ready early and we were able to eat lunch and take part of the amenities. We took advantage of several of the classes and the 3 mile hike. We did a couple of spa treatments as well. Overall, we had a great time and I hope to make this an annual trip.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a men's massage at Lake Austin Spa Resort, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience. Jason, my massage therapist, provided a truly relaxing and stress-free session that exceeded my expectations.
From the moment I arrived at the spa, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The ambiance of the resort and spa itself was soothing, creating an ideal environment for relaxation. Jason’s expertise and attentiveness immediately put me at ease.
Jason’s skillful touch and intuitive understanding of the right pressure were remarkable. Throughout the massage, he applied just the right amount of pressure to release tension and knots, leaving me feeling thoroughly relaxed. His technique was both invigorating and soothing, creating a perfect balance that helped me unwind.
Overall, I highly recommend Jason for a men's massage at Lake Austin Resort & Spa.

This was my 4th visit and not my last. What a special Mother/Daughter day we had with amazing massages and facials. Lunch was perfect, we both had salads (goat cheese and ahi tuna) with yummy green apple sorbet for dessert. The staff could not be more gracious, conversational, and professional. We took advantage of every amenity but mostly loved walking the stunning grounds, relaxing and talking. It was a great day, thank you again.

Purchased my wife and mother-in-law spa services for Mother's Day and couldn't have been more thrilled about their experiences.

They both came home with nothing but great things to say about their experiences with a facial from Michelle.
Skin glowing and full of smiles.

The massage therapist Chris they said was without a doubt the best they have ever had hands down. Clearly knew what he was doing and helped my mother-in-law with back pain while getting her to relax. Cared about their well-being and with excellent bedside manners. The technique was something way different previous sessions. Best in the business.

Thank you Lake Austin Spa for making these two beautiful women feel like a million bucks. We will definitely be coming back.

I had a wonderful stay. The property was idyllic, and the view was beautiful. I loved staying on the water. With only 40 rooms, I felt that this spa had a more intimate atmosphere than other spa resorts. The food was delicious, and they had a wide variety of classes to take, and the staff were always welcoming and attentive! Thank you so much Lake Austin Spa Resort for the wonderful time!!

My stay at Lake Austin was a true wellness oasis! The staff was outstanding, catering, and so kind. The environment is very uplifting, positive, and promotes a sense of peace and calm while still having energy! The grounds were impeccable. The activities were versatile, and I loved all of the instructors. This is a true gem in Austin and I will definitely be coming back! Not to mention, the food was incredible and the spa services were top notch!

I stayed one night with my mother to celebrate our birthdays; the experience was amazingly unique! The moment we drove into the resort was so welcoming.
The service from the front desk, activities, and all the employees from the restaurant was genuine, kind besides the food was exquisite.
We enjoyed other companions besides the long talks while enjoying good food; if I'm not mistaken, we spent about 3 or 4 hours during lunchtime!
The rooms have a lot of details; I fell in love with the cozy and moist stockings they offer to help with dry skin, not to mention a frame and a plate to remember our stay. The showers are super comfortable. I slept like a baby, and the bed was cozy and delicious. I had a deep, restful night. My mom is more of a night person; she spent time on the terrace admiring the stars and the calm river.

Our visit to the spa was on point; even though the locker area was renovated, the room was comfortable, and we enjoyed the jet pool and the dry sauna. The services from the employees were better than expected.

In general, it was an experience that we would recommend you to have, and I would like to experience it again and again and again; I understand why they have such a distinguished monarchy member program. Looking forward to that

I stayed for a weekend and had the BEST food and beverage and the spa is world class with the most seasoned therapists. I did not want to leave and cannot wait to spend more time there.
