I honestly feel a little crazy writing this review, but sometimes the experience is frustrating enough that it feels worth sharing.
My husband and I spent over $1,200 here for a couples' day treatment, and overall, the experience was extremely underwhelming for the price.
The day started off good. The onboarding was fine, and our first massages were good. Lunch was pretty underwhelming, although the snacks were good.
The bigger issues started with our second services. I had booked a prenatal treatment and clearly noted that I was pregnant on my intake form. Even so, the staff did not seem prepared for that. They got a late start getting the pregnancy pillow set up, and I had to remind them not to use certain products, which was pretty concerning given that this should have been known ahead of time.
My husband’s second massage was also honestly shocking. He said the therapist was barely massaging, and he stopped multiple times to text on his phone during the service. That would be mind-blowing for a massage at any price, but especially at this price point.
Then checkout somehow made the experience even more frustrating. We had already provided a credit card at the beginning, but had to provide it again at the end, which was fine. A few hours later, I received two calls/voicemails making it sound urgent that they needed my credit card before they closed that night so they could charge me. I was at a movie and did not answer, so I called back the next day. It turned out the “urgent” issue was about a drink from lunch that they said would simply be added to our overall bill. It felt ridiculous to receive multiple urgent calls over a roughly $20 drink after spending more than $1,200 there.
And then, while reviewing my finances, I realized they DOUBLE-charged me for that same drink. LOL. At this point it seem way easier to dispute the charge with the CCC than deal with them any more.
All in all, the property itself is pretty, but the service and execution were nowhere near what I would expect at this price point. This might have felt acceptable at a much lower-cost day spa, but for over $600 per person, the experience did not come close to matching the cost. The staff and operations felt far less buttoned up than resorts and spas I’ve been to at half the price.
