The San Jose Hotel is famously located on South Congress Avenue among the strip of well trafficked bars, restaurants and shops. This hotel was originally a motor lodge in the 1930’s that has since been remodeled into a hip Austin style place that caters to guests from all over. A variety of celebrities and musicians have kicked their shoes off to relax at The San Jose Hotel. They have an adorable gardenesque outdoor bar where they occasionally have live music, conveniently located next to their outdoor pool. A perfect getaway for any couple wanting to stay at a hip and happening place in the heart of SoCo. Absorb all of Austin’s precious weirdness and feel like the coolest couple in town.

Pretty mid for the price but hey! they have the cheapest pet fee in town without a size or breed restrictions

Gorgeous hotel with fantastic access to all South Congress shopping and restaurants! My favorite thing is being able to use the hotel parking lot for the overnight fee and just walking everywhere during my stay! There are also plenty of bikes and scooters on the corner by Jo’s if you want to rent and ride. The hotel was very clean and the housekeepers were sweet. The staff are all friendly and helpful!

I had a terrible experience with the bartender and buster. We’ve been here before so we got drinks some alcoholic some non alcoholic. We took some sips and took a second to take photos by the pool but drinks aren’t allowed so we left them for a couple minutes. We were talking to someone picking up drinks and noticed ours was gone. We told the buster and he gave us the hugest attitude and was being so rude about it. Not understanding at all. We went to tell the bartender in the front and she also did not care. When we asked for their names they gave us more attitude asking why and it was so rude. We were the only people of color customers at the time (a group of 3) so it felt targeted. I would not recommend going here.

I've stayed here several times since I've moved away from ATX, and I won't stay anywhere else. Staff is amazing, so are the resident squirrels, grounds are impeccably kept, rooms are tastefully appointed and comfortable, location is walkable for my favorite part of town. If you're reading this, just book the room, you won't be disappointed

very cool hotel, everyone here is so nice. rooms are small but cute and clean and everything is just perfect! and of course it is within walking distance to downtown and all the cool stuff on south congress.

Came by for some drinks and was happily surprised! Highly recommended their spicy margarita and coquito. Friendly vibe with seating inside and outside. Staff was super friendly and the place is dog friendly outside.

When my husband and I travel with our dog, we always stay at Hotel San Jose. They are incredibly welcoming of our elderly dog. The front desk staff is ver accommodating of his special needs and ensure that we have a room on the first floor every time and put a soft, cushy dog bed in the room for him! Also, one of the best breakfasts in my opinion in Austin, the coffee is really delicious as is the French toast. Rooms are on the minimal side in terms of decor, but the hospitality can't be beat!
