We had the pleasure of working with Laureen on our first dance for our wedding. Neither of us had any ballroom dancing experience, so we were a little nervous on if we would be able to pick up a choreographed dance. Laureen started by teaching us the basics in session 1, spent about 5 sessions learning choreography & 2 sessions perfecting & adding finishing touches. By the end of the eight sessions, we knew the dance by heart & felt great about it. Would definitely recommend working with her for anyone looking to learn something new & fun!

It's a great dance studio in Austin area! I've participated in two of their show cases, attended multiple group classes and was on a West Coast Swing Dance Team for a season. I love their teachers. The space is beautiful with multiple dance floors

I've taken dance lessons in a few different places based on what was near me when I moved. Go Dance Studio was the best of the places I've been. It was a great value, particularly the group lessons. I think I learned more per minute here than anywhere else I've taken lessons, and a lot more per dollar. Another thing I thoroughly appreciated was that they didn't pressure you into anything or try to upsell. I took both private lessons and group lessons, and I felt like they appreciated the fact I was paying for private lessons and tried to make those lessons valuable, but they definitely were okay with people just paying for and taking group lessons, or with people spending more total time in group lessons than private lessons.

After a couple of failed attempts at trying to learn to dance “out in the wild” at dance halls, I realized I needed a lot of help. A friend had seen Go Dance in passing, and on a whim without any research, I went online and booked the New Student Special (but they also take walk-ins). Best impulse decision ever.
Both students and staff are fun, friendly, supportive & genuinely care about you, plus the instructors are quite accomplished so you are learning from the best. There are multiple chances to take group classes throughout the week between the north and south locations, and the studio also hosts various socials and workshops to help hone your skills.
No one ever really mentions the side effects of dancing: weight loss, confidence boost, new friends and an expanded social life. When someone notices a positive change in me I always tell them - Go Dance!

I have been taking lessons at Go Dance South for the past year and I absolutely love the people and instructors here. Prior to taking lessons, I had taken a variety social dance class through UT Austin's social dance program, but classes at Go Dance really helped me improve technique and expand my knowledge about dancing in general. Their new student special is definitely worth it, especially if you can do a lot of group classes. I did group classes for two months and have been doing private lessons every other week with Juan for the past 11 months due to time constraints. Juan is great knowing many dances and being able to break down the movements so that I can learn things easily or work towards improving a technique that I have been struggling in. Our private lessons are usually a combination of me asking questions, practice, and learning new material. In addition to that, I sometime switch up what type of dances that we focus on for fun (I focus on west coast swing but occasionally ask about other dances or practice some two-step).
Compared to other dance studios that I have gone to for lessons or socials, the people here are very friendly and welcoming to people of all ages and levels of dance experience. I would say that Go Dance has a focus on becoming a better dancing and having fun in the process whereas some other studios focus more on technique or solely getting better.
