I can’t say enough wonderful things about Chef D and his amazing mom, Evelyn, who prepared an unforgettable four-course meal for our group of 10 in the comfort of our home. From start to finish, they were the epitome of professionalism—arriving on time, fully prepared, and ready to create something truly special for us.
The evening started with a fresh burrata salad, beautifully plated and perfectly balanced with just the right touch of seasoning. It set the tone for what was to come— chimichurri-style beef that was cooked to perfection. Every bite was tender, flavorful, and paired wonderfully with the side dishes: garlic mashed potatoes and balsamic brussels that converted even the non-brussels fans at the table! And just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, dessert arrived—a warm peach dump cake that was the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal.
Beyond the food (which was outstanding!), what made the experience even more special was the warmth and attentiveness of both Chef D and his mom Evelyn. They were engaging, friendly, and truly passionate about their craft. They took care of everything—from prep to presentation to cleanup—so we could relax and enjoy the evening with our guests. Their attention to detail and ability to read the room made the night feel seamless and effortless on our end.
As Austin locals, they bring not just skill but also heart to their work, and it was clear that they love what they do. If you’re looking for a private chef experience that is both professional and personal, look no further. Chef D and Evelyn will not only impress your taste buds but also make you feel right at home. We are already looking forward to the next opportunity to have them back!

Chef D was Fantastic! The food was incredible! And the dessert….. The Bread pudding was the absolute Best I have Ever Had! I would highly recommend him and his team for your private catered events!!!

Chef D and his team at Chef D’jour are absolutely phenomenal! We’ve had the pleasure of using Chef D for three dinner parties, and each experience has been nothing short of amazing and unique. The meals are always exquisitely prepared, with flavors that delight everyone at the table.
What makes the experience even more special is the warm and personal touch. Chef D’s sister and mother assist him in the kitchen, creating an atmosphere that feels like having family cook and clean up for you. Their professionalism and attention to detail ensure a stress-free and enjoyable evening every time.
If you’re looking to host a private dinner event that leaves a lasting impression on your guests with a truly wonderful man and his family , I highly recommend Chef D and Chef D'jour. You won’t be disappointed!

Chef D and his team catered a fabulous meal for a day-long retreat hosted by the Breast Cancer Resource Center! We requested the "Small Bites Experience" so attendees could snack throughout the day, and every menu item was delicious (people especially commented about the Salmon Bites with Creamy Dill Sauce and the vegan Meatball Martinis). We so enjoyed having him, Evelyn, and the rest of their team around - they were fun, engaging, and kept the buffet table filled all day. At the end of the event, they cleaned the kitchen and left it looking just as it had first thing in the morning. Highly recommend!

I came to the Austin area for the weekend to celebrate my birthday on 4/30/22, and 4 days later I am still reflecting and in awe of how great everything turned out with the D’Jour experience. D’Jour offers a variety of choices to select from to setup your desired menu. This was a little difficult for me, as all of the choices looked to be delicious. After finally deciding on my menu and confirming the event date, D’Jour maintained clear and open communication with me up until the time of the event. The day of, Chef D and the crew arrived on time and got started immediately. Everyone was friendly and personable, and it felt like we were old friends. We had a good time together, even though they were handling business in the kitchen. The food was AMAZING and the presentation of it all was really nice! Upon completion of the event, D’Jour packed away the leftovers, cleaned up everything and left the kitchen in better condition than it was when they arrived. It was nice to not be worried about setting anything up or cleaning. My family and I were simply able to just enjoy ourselves! This will not be the last time I utilize Chef D’s services, and I’m currently thinking about a reason to have another event just because lol It was THAT good! You won’t be disappointed!
