My wife Randee and I have stayed at the Austin Motel close to 100 nights. It’s almost like a second home and we absolutely love it. Helena makes us feel like family every time. She is absolutely unbelievably kind and positive and we are always so happy to see her. She just radiates fun! The pool is not to be missed always so fun and Brett and Stacy not only make the best drinks they make the day fun and they keep things SoCo cool. We can’t wait to be back soon. Love the Austin Motel!!!

Helena and Tara were amazing hosts!
Swanky style and enjoyed the gift shop.
Picked up a poster, ash tray, lighter and had to stop because I wanted to buy the entire shop lol. Definitely stay here for a
perfect experience.

I really enjoyed my stay at Austin Motel. What makes this place special is its personality—it manages to keep the charm and character of a classic roadside motel while offering the comfort and style of a modern boutique hotel. The location is fantastic and puts you within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and things to do around the city.

The staff made a great first impression. Check-in was quick and friendly, and everyone we interacted with throughout our stay was helpful and welcoming. Our room was comfortable, clean, and filled with unique design touches that gave it a fun retro vibe without feeling outdated.

One of the highlights was definitely the pool area. It's a great place to relax during the day, and the atmosphere around it is lively and enjoyable. During our stay there was an event with music and entertainment that gave the property an energetic, social feel and made the experience even more memorable.

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. If you're looking for something with more character than a typical hotel chain, Austin Motel is a great choice and somewhere I would happily stay again.

Stayed at Austin Motel this weekend and had such a genuinely lovely experience. The whole place has an incredible vibe. LOVED the decor. The staff really made the stay stand out, especially Dana and Helena at the front desk, who was so awesome. She went out of her way to help us and made us feel really welcome.

Between the atmosphere, the service, and the personality of the property, I’d absolutely stay here again. Easy five stars.

Thin walls, thin door, easily hear noise. Front desk service was great. View was good. There is an early checkout penalty which is dumb.

NO gym.

NOT a good hotel for business travel. Good I suppose for regular tourism.

The Austin Motel is a very fun stay. Located right in the middle of all the action, it’s a fun idea: an old motel converted into a nice hotel. We stayed in a king suite overlooking the pool. Not too much to look at, but is a nice room.

Check-in was easy and the person who checked us in was very helpful. The room itself is somewhat basic, with a lot of fun design details that harken back to its old motel roots.

The pool is heated and beautiful. There was also a party one day that was a lot of fun with drag queens singing and dancing.

Comfortable bed, big bathroom and everything we needed was there.

I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great funky motel. The customer service is amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable. Prices are very reasonable. The location is great off of South Congress. Near by places to eat and shop. Fun place to check out.

Overall, we loved our 4-night stay! We had a standard king room and it was perfect for 2 people.

Pros:
Great location for walking South Congress, comfortable room, hot shower with nice soaps, awesome pool, friendly vibes, cute aesthetic, good communication, free morning coffee, cold mini-fridge, affordable rates

Cons: no microwave, safe, or Bluetooth speaker in room (it's aux only), Rocky’s Bar was inexplicably closed, steep early check-in fee

My boyfriend and I came as guests of the pool bar from an online reservation. Everybody within the pool bar seem to be friends or employees of the business. The bartender upon arrival was immediately rude to my boyfriend, despite nothing having been said at all. He popped an attitude and continued with said attitude well into our service. Making sure that all of his friends and coworkers knew that he did not like my boyfriend. Let this be known that the entire population of the bar at that time with white folks, and my boyfriend was the only brown man in the bar. I’m not sure if this is racially charged, I am in Austin local and don’t want to believe that it is. But the treatment definitely felt as such. once we left, multiple of his friends cheered us leaving, I’m unsure why they were so immediately against him as we had said nothing other than ordering our drinks and being kind to him, as a bartender myself I am overly friendly with service staff. Once again I’m not sure if this is a racial event. But the service was terrible and Brent made sure to make my boyfriend feel like an outsider. I spoke with the management and I hope that this does not happen again, but if you are not white or local, make sure that you think hard about your visit.

I love this retro restored hotel ~ great location and such a fun atmosphere. I must shout out to Helena the desk clerk who was so friendly. Highly recommend ~ it won’t disappoint.
