I moved from Chicago to Austin at 17 YOA to join the Army back in 2000. I have called Austin/Lakeway my permanent residence since getting out of the Army circa 2013.
All of that is to say Austin has changed a lot since 2000! My wife and I made a quick decision to take a tour with Austin Duck Adventures to catch up on some city history/information while having fun.
While the tour bus was almost completely packed full with all ages from young children to seniors, I was still comfortable and able to hear the guide perfectly fine. I don't remember his name other than it started with a "J". The driver's name was Kirk, or so they said, and I only remember that because they joked about the city's mayor having the same name.
The drive was smooth and comfortable on and off the road and the guide was very friendly and entertaining
For the most part you will travel on Cesar Chavez from the Austin's visitors center to out past Redbud St and Mozart's coffee where they drive into the water.
It was a great way to spend 75 or so minutes and reacquaint my wife and I with this ever changing city.
