This hotel is a true gem and perfect for a romantic get away. Its the type of place you both want to rave about because its so wonderful but also want to keep secret before it becomes too popular and you can no longer get a room. This two story hotel is located on on the banks of Brushy Creek in downtown Round Rock. Our room had beautiful big windows and a balcony overlooking the creek. The room was nicely decorated with deep green walls and a few decorations which gave the room charm without being cluttered. The bedding was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large, clean, and apportioned with lush towels. The hand soap and lotion smelled wonderful.
The property and grounds are well maintained. The layout of the hotel is akin to a motel with a covered walkway between the rooms. The walkways had pale green salt on them as they can become slick when it is wet or icy and we stayed a few days before a predicted freeze. The hallways were nicely lit and there were strings of lights lighting up the property at night. There is a lovely pool and several areas for outdoor seating that would be wonderful in nice weather.
The Ruby Bar located at the center of the property was the perfect place to share a bottle of wine and an intimate late night dinner. Although the menu is small, it had just the perfect thing for our late night dinner and offered a few shareables and dessert. I was pleased that the wine selection wasn't overly priced and was impressed with the Malbec we had and loved their wine glasses. The bar itself was nicely decorated for the holidays, and offered bar, table, and couch seating. The property map shows they also have a patio overlooking the creek.
All of the staff we interacted with were amazing including the woman at the front desk when we checked in and the bartender. That said they have a seamless check in process and we could have chosen to check in and out by text and never have had to interact with staff. Although we chose to check in in-person I like knowing that in the future we can do so by text. And we enjoyed our stay so much I imagine there will be a next time.
