You have to checkout Tatsumi, it is spectacular! Lowkey setting with amazing food and super fresh fish. Can’t recommend them enough!

Uni was not fresh. It was very bitter. The quality of the sashimi did not worth your money. If you’ve ever tried good sushi from NYC or LA area, you would be very disappointed at this place. I am not saying this place needs to be better than other sushi places from big cities, but with the money you are paying, you deserve something better than this.
Having tried so many Japanese restaurants in Austin and everywhere else, Tatsumi has definitely earned its top place in my heart. The food, being the most important factor of a restaurant, is always very fresh and presented beautifully to the customers. Every bite is satisfying and pure enjoyment and every dish on the menu is thoughtfully crafted. You have so many options to choose from, or you can leave it up to the chef to surprise you with something you’ve never tried before, it’s all about the fun experience. Over the past years, Tatsumi has definitely kept its bar consistently high with great food and service, and some creativity in their menu, it’s definitely a hidden gem that will not disappoint you.
These folks are near and dear to my heart. If you want a personable, knowledgeable and innovative experience with sushi, come here and trust the chefs. They regularly rotate their selection and are constantly dreaming up wonderful flavour profiles and combinations to introduce to customers. A lot of sushi places in Austin tend to play it safe and serve the same things. Which is fine, but if you live in the delight of trying new things, it's limiting. Tatsumi pushes the envelope every week and will respond enthusiastically if you have ideas or profiles in mind. They're the only place I've been that are genuinely excited if you tell them you want them to guide your lunch or dinner. Their passion for their craft is unmatched.
Seldom took photos for foods, came back to this part after already took a couple of bites! The materials been used here are amazingly fresh, soups and all of the sauces perfectly match the dishes we ordered. Tempura is impressive, crisp but not overly cooked, shrimp inside is juicy like still in the water lol. Has become my favorite sushi place in the town.
