    What makes it fun

Our traditional Southern-inspired diner is reminiscent of a time when friends, food and drink shared in each other's company was the mark of a good day, every day. The menu reflects flavors from the best kitchens between East Austin and New Orleans with a free side of Texas Hospitality.

I know there is a lot of this old Austin was better stuff but this restaurant used to be so much better. The menu is lacking and in general this place seems to be geared towards tourists and new transplants. They opened a spot across the street and it seems like they took half their menu over there leaving the original location suffering.

Such great food in a BEAUTIFUL diner!! Always have such a great time eating brunch here with friends. I haven’t eaten in their outdoor area, but it seems really nice. Service is wonderful.

⭐️⭐️ Disappointing First Experience at Sawyer & Co.

Today, my wife and I visited Sawyer & Co. for the first time. We drove down from the Georgetown area, so given the distance we traveled, we were really hoping the experience would make the trip worthwhile. Unfortunately, it did not.

The first issue was the parking situation. We drove around the parking lot for approximately 10 minutes trying to find a place to park, and there simply weren’t enough available spaces. This was frustrating before we even made it inside.

Once inside, we waited more than 30 minutes to be seated, this was after a confirmedreservation on Open Table. After being seated, we waited another 15+ minutes before our waitress came to bring us water or take our order. By that point, we already knew exactly what we wanted.

We ordered two breakfast bowls, and unfortunately, both bowls were served cold. My wife's breakfast bowl was particularly disappointing. She found it to be so bad that she couldn't eat it at all, resulting in a complete waste of the meal we had paid for.

Unfortunately, the customer service did not help improve the experience. Our waitress, Erin, was not very welcoming, engaging, or customer-focused. Her overall demeanor came across as very bland and disinterested. This was one of the worst customer service experiences we've had in quite some time.

Overall, we were very disappointed with our first visit to Sawyer & Co. Between the parking, long wait to be seated, additional wait for service, cold food, and poor customer service, the experience simply wasn't worth the long drive from Georgetown.

Hopefully, management will take this feedback seriously and address these issues, because based on our experience today, we would be hesitant to make the trip back.

This little 60's vibe diner is as adorable as it is delicious! I had the Popeye breakfast tacos. My friends had biscuits and gravy and the Jorge! Everything was yummy and hot. I would definitely go back when in Austin!

It’s a nice restaurant to visit since you get a nice view of the lake and there’s a lot of spots where you could take nice pics. The food was good! We loved the cod bites, great choice for the appetizer. The other dishes were just okay. I feel like you could get them anywhere and probably a little better. The cocktail was on the sweeter side as well. Overall its not bad.

Stumbled upon this place when doing a search for the best brunch spots in Austin. After eating here, I know why it made the list. Smaller portions, which is wonderful since you’re going to want everything on the menu. Get a few different things to share, or at least two items for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. I got the lost bread “French toast” which an amazing whipped cream and fresh berries, and an amazing twist on eggs Benedict. It had fried tomatoes! A NOLA staple. This is the place to go for some great Cajun/creole brunch.!

The food was divine, and overall Lonesome Dove was a pleasant surprise. We had a late reservation Saturday night during Memorial Day weekend, so surprisingly slow. The ambiance is warm and comfortable, with classic country music playing softly in the background and an authentic Texas interior decor, with dark colors and rustic touches. The service was good, staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Now to the food, we started with the blue corn lobster hushpuppies and butter lettuce salad with red chili buttermilk vinaigrette, both very good! For entrees we had the signature dish which is the roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin and rack of lamb, both were on point! My favorite was the LD Mac & Cheese with fried artichoke hearts, unbelievable, mind blown! The burnt carrot side with Texas honey, Meyer lemon and goat cheese was also really good. I heard the chef Tim Love had previously won Iron Chef, no surprise. Tasty spot, definitely recommend, check these guys out!
