We had a wonderful vacation at Park Lane Guest House over the New Year's holiday, and we really didn't want to leave. The Carriage House is spacious and comfortable. The area is very walkable; we didn't need to get in the car at all. Good restaurants and music no more than five minutes leisurely walk away. There are also nice parks nearby. But most of all we enjoyed just relaxing in the garden, watching the birds and listening to the sounds of nature. Shakti's gourmet breakfasts were just the icing on the cake. We really enjoyed the hospitality! We will be recommending this place to all our friends, and we will be coming back.

Spent a wonderful, long weekend at Park Lane Guest House. The vibe that Shakti has created is peaceful, happy, and easy-going. The grounds are beautiful! The chickens are adorable - their pen is impressive and they run over to say hello. The rooms all have peaceful, private decks where a truly gourmet breakfast is served. Shakti is an excellent cook! The refillable glass bottles of filtered water are a much appreciated extra detail as is the coffee bar and (pay extra) wet bar. The location is just far enough off of Congress Ave so that noise isn’t an issue, yet within walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants and entertainment - including the bat bridge!

Fabulous setting, private, lush, tranquil- a true oasis less than 4 blocks to South Congress. Great small pool and enclosed outdoor shower. Well stocked rooms are more like cottages and substantially better than most hotel rooms. Breakfast is served in your room at 8 and ours were delicious.

I cannot recommend staying here enough! My husband and I shared three nights here upon our first time visiting Austin. The Guest House is in such a nice location and within walking distance to dozens of shops and restaurants. Each morning we woke up to a delicious homemade breakfast and enjoyed the eco-friendly lot. Shakti is such a wonderful woman who offered us such a nice environment, experience, and shared so much knowledge about Austin & raising chickens. When we visit Austin again, we will absolutely be rebooking.

Even better than we expected! We'll stay again on our next trip to Austin. The "Garden Cottage" was adorable, quiet, and comfortable. The pool and garden area were an oasis where we could spend hours to relax/recharge. We loved having breakfast and coffee on our shaded patio--and the breakfasts were entirely homemade and delicious. The location is perfect: just a couple minutes stroll to Congress St., but in a peaceful neighborhood. Overall, it's a treasure.

Vegan and vegetarian options were the main reason for choosing Park Lane, and they did not disappoint! Breakfast was brought to our room with a warm greeting and a sweet smile. My husband and I enjoyed everything from the organic coffee, filtered water provided, full kitchen, and the cottage was so quiet, all we could hear were the sound of dove's and a pleasant water fountain outside. The Garden Cottage has a nice living room with a TV, plenty of seating, and the kitchen has a little bar area with 2 chairs to enjoy breakfast. To our surprise the toilet seat was HEATED!!! In all of my 49 years I have never enjoyed that delightful amenity. Bedding was awesome, bed was very comfortable, shower pressure was top notch, plenty of towels, TP, everything you could possibly need in a very cozy setting. WE would absolutely recommend stay here. The location was PERFECT. we could walk to everything and even in the rain it was a nice stroll through the beautiful neighborhood.

This is a lovely little oasis of quiet and natural beauty only a5- minute walk from South Congress. It had everything I could have asked for: beautiful grounds, birdsong in the mornings, a lovely pool, and the breakfasts were amazing! My new favorite place to stay in Austin--can't recommend it highly enough!

Park Lane Guest House is a small gem nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood easy walking distance to all the action on South Congress. Shakti is a welcoming host and provides exceptional hospitality including a healthful home cooked breakfast using fresh eggs from the flock of on site chickens and herbs from the garden, delivered to your room each morning. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully appointed with special attention to promoting green living. Shakti has great suggestions about where to dine and places to visit. I've had the pleasure of staying here twice and plan to return. PLGH is truly a delightful experience!

We were going to Austin in mid November for a wedding being held at one of the bustling hotels on South Congress. Thankfully we found the Park Lane Guest Cottages. We stayed in the Garden Cottage, a delightful, spacious quiet space with everything you need when you are away from home.As vegans we've never had such delicious breakfasts and what a variety every morning. Shakti knows how to prepare great food and she brings it to your back door every morning. You can eat on the patio or in the lovely kitchen space.Their gardens are beautiful, oh those morning glories, with a Live Oak Tree taking center stage. Shakti thought it could be 300 years old!! We loved the chickens and of course their 2 little dogs. The neighborhood is great for walks and you are 5 minutes from the center everything. We look forward to our return. Thank you again for such a special time away!!

I felt like I was staying in someones comfortable home, but I also enjoyed having so much privacy. A healthy, organic, delicious and beautifully prepared breakfast delivered to my cottage each morning was such a treat. The owners were a wealth of information about the local happenings going on around Austin. They are located just off of S Congress where there is all manner of shopping and restaurants and night life, but you would never know it because it is so peaceful, quiet and serene at the cottage. I felt safe and walked everywhere even at night. I look forward to staying here again!

Park Lane Guest House is a perfect place to stay in Austin. First, the information in order to get there was helpful. Second, I was greeted late at night by Shakti and shown around my quarters so I knew where light switches, coffee/tea, heater units, etc. were. My place was clean and everything worked. When I woke in the morning, breakfast was delivered and it was some of the very best food I have had at a B&B. Then....what a location! It is on a quiet street but a 5 minute walk to South Congress where you can find restaurants, coffee, vintage stores, and classic jazz bars. One of the special touches was an email they sent the day I arrived. It had tips for transportation, shopping, historical locations, and parks that were within walking distance. I planned to kayak on the Colorado River and I"m glad I told Shakti about it. She recommended the Texas Rowing Club that was a little further upstream so it got me out of the downtown. What a wonderful, peaceful kayake ride that I will think of when I remember Austin. Park Lane Guest House is an outstanding place. I highly recommend it.
