Had a great stay at the Moxy hotel. The staff are incredibly nice. I just want to shout-out the man that checked me in. I didn't catch his name (he was of African-descent I believe), but he was so charismatic and welcoming. The whole hotel is UT / Longhorn-themed which was a cool touch.
The room rates are a little on the pricier side though. There's garage parking that they recommend to reserve in advance and it's $45/night. Very expensive, but at least they enclose the garage with a gate during night. Otherwise, there's street parking or the San Antonio Garage nearby.
The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Apparently, they say they only do house keeping after the 3rd night, but somehow they did house keeping for my room after my 2nd night which was nice.
My complaint with the room was that the door wasn't fully sound-proof and you could hear noise like people and house keeping vacuuming often through it. The TV was nice and larger, but the interface was so laggy to use. You can connect an HDMI cable to it though (WiFi is plenty fast as well). It also would have been nice if the room came with a mini fridge and microwave since there was definitely space.
There's a bar and taco restaurant in the lobby area of the hotel. You also get a token for a free drink from the bar when you check-in. There's also a little courtyard area where you can socialize.
Location-wise, this hotel is fantastic. It's right across from UT Austin, and in a very safe location (West Campus), even at night, given it's primarily a student neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and food trucks within walking distance as well. There's also the main CapMetro rapid line bus stop right across that takes you to downtown.
