Lake Travis is a reservoir on the Colorado River. Serving principally as a flood-control reservoir, Lake Travis' historical minimum to maximum water height change is nearly 100 feet. Many people in Austin love to venture out to Lake Travis for boating, swimming and other fun outdoor activities. There are many restaurant, bars, parks and rental places that reside alongside Lake Travis. The lake is a great place to go for anything outdoors. A sunset boat ride on Lake Travis can be quite romantic.
