Great place to visit in the mid to late spring - or at least after the first rain has come through. Definitely a lot more flowers then. Not too large of a wild flower space, but there's a good number of trails to walk around. You'll also find a lot of cyclist in the surrounding trails.

Our whole family are huge fans , they had a shuttle bus coming and going constantly , drops you off right in front .. just getting dark when we arrived , by the end it was a spectacle .. lots of music from the soundtrack , plenty of photo opps, staff freely offered to take the photos , nice gift shop, souvenirs . We enjoyed it . Tickets were reasonable and the trail was amazing , lights , music , all the important attractions .. I didn’t know it at the time but the light show only played in 2 states , 1 city each so we just happened to be 20 min away :) Perfect Holiday family outing that was set up and executed well. We had no line because we got there on the first or 2nd bus , by the time we left it was packed . Worth it

A Year-Round Sanctuary with Stunning Wildflowers and Wildlife!

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is truly a gem that is worth visiting in every season, but it becomes exceptionally magical during the springtime. The vast fields of Bluebonnets—Texas's iconic state flower—create a breathtaking scene that everyone should experience at least once.

One of my favorite things about this center is its incredible wildlife. For several years now, I have looked forward to seeing the mother owl and her adorable owlets during the spring and summer months. It is such a special and heartwarming experience to observe them in such a peaceful setting.

It’s also a perfect destination for families. Every year, they feature unique, large-scale landscape art installations that are fantastic for kids to explore and play with. If you are looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and reconnect with nature, this is the spot. I’ve been coming here for years and it never ceases to amaze me. Truly a must-visit for anyone in or around Austin!

Very nice gardens to visit. There were some beautiful displays throughout. The buildings were all unique and nice looking as well. We appreciate Lady Bird Johnson's environmental efforts and this a fitting tribute to her legacy. Highly recommend!

So... beautiful. Our daughter just got married here. I could have spent so much more time here. She and her new hubby got an annual pass. If you love nature, it is a must see. Staff was also great. It was a tiny intimate ceremony but they treated us great. It was so special.

Came here during quarantine and was happy for the pick me up. I was happy to see that people in Austin know and enjoy this place regularly. The extensive amount of flora and knowledgeable staff will keep any nature enthusiast coming back for more and I hope to return soon.

Great place if you enjoy flower blooms and trees. Informative free volunteer tour that is definitely worth it. Wonderful things for young children to do. The Cafe was wonderful and the Mushroom Arugula Sandwich with its tangy pesto was delicious! Worth it for a day visit!. Great barefooting experience to walk the trails and experience nature up close!

Definitely one of the prettier botanical gardens I've been to. Gorgeous even on a cloudy day! Be warned though there are rattlesnakes on the property so just be careful where you step should be fine if you stay on the trails I wouldn't recommend wandering off of them though and if you do keep your eyes on the ground for sure. Plenty of wildlife as well. Seen a fawn sleeping in some grass and a couple turkeys.

Had a really fun time visiting Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center. So many wildflowers and they had amazing spots for pictures. It feels like a dream. They also have long trails and short trails and you can walk them depending on the weather. I love the observation tower. Their gift shop is so cute and filled with amazing gifts for you or loved ones. If you haven’t been there and want to see blue bonnets or other wild flowers, definitely visit.

I love going here and so welcoming to families. Something for everyone and so relaxing. Reserving a pickleball Court is easy, but plan ahead and early morning is always best and less chaotic to play.
Great beer and Pizza truck.

Very cool hiking and outdoor exploration area local to Austin, so isolated that it's hard to believe it's this close to the city. Recommend that you make reservations, otherwise good luck. Plenty of wide open hiking trails and the Onion Creek bed to explore with kids. Even on a weekend morning in the Fall, it was not overcrowded or anything. Nice visitor center with clean bathrooms and friendly staff to chat with. We did not visit the campground area, so this review does not factor that part of the park. Otherwise, super fun place to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Recommended.

Superb pizza. Even after living in New York City I can safely say home slice is as good if not better than most joints in NYC. Very crispy crust after they reheat it, fantastic flavours. I hate floppy crust and this place never fails to deliver an ultra crispy slice with excellent toppings. It gets pretty busy so expect a packed location.

We visited the other evening on one of their late night (I believe every Tuesday through spring). It was $15/person, there was live music, a bar, food trucks, and an ice cream truck for the late night event from 5-8pm. This place was great for kids and families with everything from flowers, trees, trails, playgrounds, and plenty of room to bring your own chairs or picnic blanket! It is also a great date night spot. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy nice conversation or a picnic. I definitely recommend visiting weather you’re a local or coming from out of town! There are memberships that typically pay for themselves within a few visits—we will be investing in one!
