We picked J-Prime as my group wanted to go to a steak house for Restaurant Week. I was excited but overall disappointed in the food based on what we ended up paying pp. My friend ordered the lobster bisque and she said it was “rubbery”. The wedge salad was pretty good and I finished the whole thing. My friends ordered filet mignons and one of them didn’t come out the right temp. The manager was nice enough to send another one out even though we didn’t ask for one. My ribeye was medium rare when I asked for medium. The French fries were a bit overcooked and the Brussels sprouts were just okay. For dessert, we ordered crème brûlée and carrot cake, both which were fine. Overall, I don’t think I will return. For the price point, there are other steak restaurants I prefer.

Went for our anniversary and had such a great experience! The atmosphere was beautiful and perfect for a special occasion. I loved that they had a Happy Anniversary card waiting for us at the table—it was such a nice little touch. We went during Austin Restaurant Week and did the $75 prix-fixe menu. Everything we had was delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides were definitely some of my favorite parts of the meal. We tried the creamy loaded potatoes and grilled asparagus, and everything went together really well. Even the bread was so good! The service was also amazing. Everyone was attentive and made our anniversary dinner feel special without rushing us. It was a beautiful atmosphere, great food, and wonderful service. We had an amazing anniversary dinner and would definitely come back! ❤️

J-Prime was the perfect choice for my birthday dinner! From the atmosphere to the service and food, everything was exceptional. The steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were delicious, and the cocktails were on point. The staff made the evening feel special from beginning to end. Amazing food, beautiful ambiance, and top-tier service. Definitely a 5/5 experience and a wonderful way to end my birthday celebration!

We had both a filet mignon and a ribeye for Austin restaurant week. We requested steaks to be cooked medium but both were unevenly cooked, and basically well-done. We were already halfway through eating the filet (due to smaller size), so we requested only our ribeye get re-cooked. The re-attempt came out fully well-done. The team did try to remedy the issue by offering to cook steak yet another time, which we felt bad about requesting, since we didn't want to waste that much beef (that would be three steaks cooked, and they got it wrong two times, and at that point we were also tired of waiting). They offered to remove one person's bill and gave us some more wine instead, which was nice of them. But we would rather pay the original price and get steak right the first time around, instead of having to deal with the entire hassle. Their service is the only reason I'm giving a higher rating than I originally would have.

The shrimp cocktail was a standout, featuring large, fresh shrimp paired with a flavorful house-made cocktail sauce that elevated the dish. The Brazilian cheese balls added a unique and delicious touch between courses. The steak kabob was also beautifully prepared, offering great flavor and texture. J Prime Steakhouse exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was upscale yet welcoming, and every dish we ordered was outstanding. The quality of the food, preparation, and presentation made for one of the best steakhouse experiences I’ve had. What truly made the evening unforgettable, however, was our sommelier, Adam. His knowledge of whiskey and tequila was exceptional, and his recommendations paired perfectly with our meal. More importantly, his attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine passion for creating a great dining experience elevated the entire evening. Adam struck the perfect balance between being informative and personable, and he was easily the highlight of our visit. If you’re looking for an incredible steakhouse in Austin, J Prime is absolutely worth the visit. And if you have the opportunity to have Adam as your sommelier, you’re in for an exceptional experience. We’ll definitely be back.

J-Prime Steakhouse exceeded every expectation and easily ranks among the best steakhouses in Texas. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was sophisticated and inviting, with a modern, upscale atmosphere that was perfect for a special night out. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome throughout the entire meal. We started with the Mojito Fizz, which was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and a great way to begin the evening. The Lobster Bites were incredibly tender, buttery, and full of fresh lobster flavor. We also ordered the Wedge Salad, which was crisp, fresh, and generously topped with creamy blue cheese, bacon, and tomatoes, making it a delicious starter. For our main course, we shared the Surf and Turf, and it was absolutely outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection with a beautiful crust and incredible flavor, while the lobster was sweet, tender, and complemented the steak perfectly. Every component of the dish reflected the high quality and attention to detail that J-Prime is known for. What truly made the experience memorable was the combination of exceptional food, impeccable service, and an elegant atmosphere. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, planning a date night, or simply looking for one of the best fine dining restaurants in Texas, J-Prime Steakhouse is a must-visit. We celebrated Father's Day brunch here yesterday and were a little apprehensive after being informed it was buffet style without the option of adding anything off the menu or a la carte. Worries were quickly dispelled after being shown what was on offer for the brunch spread. Our family enjoyed everything from the waffles for our little one to seriously delicious lamb chops and filet mignon. Honestly everything we tasted delivered! Our waitress, Samarya, truly deserves a special mention, she was super attentive, incredibly warm, and knowledgeable. Her thoughtful suggestions truly elevated our experience. The collective effort of the entire staff contributed to an atmosphere that felt nothing short of five-star. This is exactly the kind of dining experience you hope for when celebrating special moments with loved ones. Oh last but not least, the best part was creating our own dessert sampler bc why choose just one?!

I came here to carb overload for the Austin 2026 Marathon. I was able to conquer all those pesky uphills, thanks to the scrumptious Seafood Pasta. It had all the imaginable umami from the seafood, sharpness from the cheese, and was perfectly married with the lemon beurre blanc sauce. Not really worth the price, but I would definitely still buy it again. I also got the loaded potato and celebration cake. It was difficult to enjoy the loaded potato because it was too stacked, and the potato itself was a little bland and dry to me. The celebration cake is a bit on the sweeter side, but was also absolutely monstrous. Regardless, I definitely have to come back to try a different main and explore the other starters.

J -Prime Austin is an experience for those than love style, elegance, great tasting food and amazing attentiveness from the waiter/staff. Wonderful place to celebrate birthdays, Anniversaries or any special occasion. They start out by this cute sorbet to cleans the palette, followed by appetizers/cocktails then dinner. If your in a large group my personal suggestion would be family style, this way you get a taste of many delicious. The dishes not just one. The steaks are amazing, the lobster tails are huge and delicious. The Mac and lobster are to die for so are the augraten potatoes...so yummy! Special occasion opt for the Beautiful Carrot Cake...very rich! Over all we love the restaurant and highly recommend it!

Food was excellent. One of the best steaks Ive had in Austin (45 day dry aged ribeye) cooked perfectly at Rare+. We also had the beet salad and lobster bisque. Both were super flavorful.

A must try for Valentine’s Day! Easily one of the best steakhouses we’ve ever been to. Our waitress Samarya was very sweet, attentive, and quick with service. The Valentine’s menu was incredible, from caviar and oysters to the perfectly cooked steaks and delicious desserts. Most definitely our new go-to spot for celebrations.

We were greeted with smiles at the door. Our waitress Erika was superb and knowledgeable of the menu! We had the matredee Otis check on us several times along with the manager. The service was as wonderful as the meal. Can not say enough about our experience. Top notch!

Dine in on New Year's Eve. Beatiful decor, great staff and definitely super good food. Daniel is our terrific server and he has good sense of humor, too. It is a bit pricey but we love it. Will come back on other trip. 2 thumbs up from us.

From start to finish, my experience was great. As we walked to our table, wait staff and managers all greeted us with smiles and warm welcomes. Our server was informative, polite, and knowledgeable. The cocktails and appetizers were delicious. It was my birthday, so I did love the balloon and birthday card presented by the staff! I was served ‘Divorce Papers’ (a signature cocktail) and LOVED the presentation. My mother had a ‘So Fresh So Clean’ and said it was a perfectly mixed drink! We tried the lobster bites, and WOW! Just melt in your mouth! We ordered a half dozen oysters on a half shell.. They were very fresh! For our main courses, we had the filet duo and the surf and turf. Both were amazing! Thanks for making my birthday special! I’ll definitely be back!

This is a very swanky fancy steakhouse. A very nice crowd, really big restaurant. Nevertheless reservations are a must. Great wine selection as well as cocktails. The food is very good, the meats are delicious, the appetizers are too. The service was very good, even though our server said that every dish the table ordered was his favorite, hahaha. Anyways, top notch, very pricey, so keep that in mind before dining here. Recommended!

Everything about this place is perfect. The details and decor are elegant and simple. We ordered the sea bass and rack of lamb, everything was cooked to perfection. Food presentation and taste is outstanding. Service is excellent. If I could give more stars, I definitely would. We felt very welcomed and taken care of. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to have a great experience not just “a place to eat”. Keep up the great work! 👏🏻

This place is top notch! We made a reservation for our 15th anniversary. All staff from front hostess to bartenders, servers, and managers made it a very special experience. We started at the bar for a few drinks and fish and appetizer. Moved to the dining room for dinner and dessert! All our food and drinks were delicious. Will definitely be back soon!
