One light, one outlet, no wardrobe. I’m simply astounded by how poorly these rooms are designed. The only light in the room on the same switch as the only light in the bathroom? Check. No wardrobe or any place to unpack? Check. One outlet a solid 15 feet away from the only seating in the room? Check. Want to get to your room? Oh the elevator is broken so take this roundabout route through the pool with the gates locked.

I’m sure this hotel caters to someone, but I can’t for the life of me figure out who the target market is. The bar closes at 10… and it’s the least business travelers friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Not sure what the angle is but I’ll stick to the Hyatt if I return to town.

Also - shame on management for leaving a street level sliding door unlocked at checkin…. Disgusted I left my belongings in an unlocked room all day, just absolutely irresponsible. Will not stay here ever again.

Super nice hotel. Unique set up. Great area. Literally a five minute walk to lots of shopping and eating places.

The beds need to be updated. It felt like a very cheap futon. Everything else in the room was nice. Great location but won't recommend it.

My daughter recommended a staycation here for a friend’s birthday celebration. Everyone we interacted with kind and welcoming. They even left some delicious donuts from the restaurant as a welcome/birthday gift. They were the best donuts we have ever tasted! After having, we knew we had to eat at Summer House for all of our meals and it did not disappoint, even for my picky friend. The room felt like being in a treehouse surrounded by beautiful cypress trees, while being downtown and having a view of the city skyline. The private screened in patio was amazing and perfect for relaxing. I will definitely come back and recommend to others!

My husband and I got married at Hotel Magdalena in April and we truly couldn't have asked for a better venue! From the start- the staff at the hotel was friendly, responsive, and so fun to work with. All of our guests raved about the service, food, and drinks throughout the night. We are so thankful we chose Hotel Magdalena to host our special day!

We had our company summit here. Pros: Friendly staff. Good food from the Summer House. Very relaxing and hip atmosphere. Dig the design elements including the black and white rock n roll photography. I like that the window curtain covers up the TV and the room layout is fun and functional. Botanical bath products are a nice touch adding to the overall Zen. Cons: The overall property layout is a bit confusing when trying to locate a room further away and the toilet paper is super scratchy.

Really enjoyed our stay! The rooms are quite nice, the grounds are gorgeous and very oasis like in the central courtyard. The staff was friendly and really helpful. Ashley at the front desk took care of us for most of the stay and she was so great! So friendly and helpful, we forgot a few things and she was able to provide them for us, as well as giving us some nice recommendations of things to do on our trip. We enjoyed the food and cocktails we had at the restaurant, and the service was attentive. The speakeasy bar is super cool and we had some amazing drinks. I'll definitely be back!

It is a wonderful boutique hotel located in the heart of South Congress. Beautiful grounds with a great restaurant on site. We had coffee and pastries that were amazing every morning. We also ate the menu breakfast, which was tasty and beautifully plated.
The rooms were well laid out with the best stocked mini bar and snacks I have ever seen. The soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were the hotel's blend and were a pleasing scent and good quality.
But the location was something that could not be beat. Hotel Magdalena was well located for anything you would want to do on S. Congress. Everything is within walking distance. The restaurants, the shops, or the music clubs (Continental Club and C'Boys) and two of the best ice cream shops in Austin. We never ventured to the pool because our stay was in January, and it was a bit chilly to think about going for a swim. If we return to Austin again, we will definitely stay at Hotel Magdalena.

Been there for three days, really cute hotel. The room is clean and tidy, love the bright color in the room to make our morning more energetic. Great Staff members who help a lot. There is also a nice bar downstairs, the drink is worth to try. This hotel literally in shopping district, you would have a fun time for sure!
