Joined the Saturday morning knitting group in January, 2008 and knitted there for many years. Couldn’t imagine a new store on Manchaca, but it is a wonderful place. Inventory amazing. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. So sad Suzanne is gone.

i've lived so close and it's been on my radar for a couple years but i finally visited today. and good god, what a beautiful store. they have a crazy amount of different yarns -- many rooms full -- and while i was there, i encountered two different classes. i happened to be looking for loose wool for felting and, though they are called Weavers, i took a chance, found exactly what i wanted. i couldn't recommend this place more.

AMAZING selection--there are so many great yarns in all sorts of textures and weights, and everyone there is so nice and helpful. I got some beautiful yarns for a project and amazing insight on which ones might be best suited for my current project

First time at this yarn store and I had a very positive experience. I was looking for a natural looking mix of cotton/and or silk yarn to weave a Kumihimo cord for a wedding pendant that I made. Right away I got one-on-one assistance with my creative ideas from a very sweet lady. They also spun all of my yarn into balls for me. I Found exactly what I was looking for and will definitely go there again. 😌

HCW has been the go to place for fiber related everything for over 41 years. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, skillful and just downright wonderful. Yarn, classes, accessories, patterns, books - you name it they have the best. The outdoor area is worth the visit alone.

Awesome place. Just bring your checkbook. They do have a lovely bargain section though. Silk, cotton, linen, wool, alpaca, etc, etc. They have at all. They even have acrylic. Most of their customers knit but hey it's yarn so you can really do anything with it. They have pattern books, they have looms, and they have some really fantastic lessons and knitting circles available too. It's a warm, loving, supportive, helpful environment. If you don't know how to stitch something, ask one of them and they will help you figure it out! And then you can sit there and work on it until you have it down. Trust me, I've done it. Love these guys.
