Went to Afternoon tea - very overpriced, service was not good, I had to ask for the waiter to explain the teas and food - if you’ve ever been to the Driskill tea then you have been to the best - this Goldie’s one was a joke!

I am basically doing this review just to give kudos to Emma June at Goldie's! I'm a recent transplant to Austin, and curious to discover all the best places in my new city. I placed a call to inquire about 'Afternoon Tea' at Austin Proper and she was an absolute delight! She answered all of my questions and explained in detail what this experience involves - and I cannot wait to go

service is exceptional. drinks are creative and fun. one of them tastes like focaccia! truffle chips are great too. the overall vibe is low key and cozy. def a place i’d love to go again.

My girlfriends and I do an afternoon tea almost every holiday season. This year we picked Goldie’s and boy, it was not a disappointment. The service was impeccable. The waiter was extremely attentive. The food was wonderful- we had to get seconds of the cucumber sandwich and scones. Omg those scones and butter and crème fraiche and homemade jam were amazing. The downsides of the meal were cost of champagne and ambience. We paid $18 a glass for champagne and it was delicious but that’s steep. And we had a great private corner of the room but the seats were hard to get out of- it’s a deep couch almost and while beautiful, you sink in and it’s hard to move. And my friend was seated on a stool with no backrest - she didn’t complain but it’s probably not comfortable to sit there for over 2 hours. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the experience.

After our early dinner reservation we decided to stop in for a cocktail. Well. They were so delicious we each had three. The bartenders were very wonderful with their recommendations and we enjoyed every drink thoroughly. The ambiance is very cozy and it was perfect for a date night.

We went for Sunday Hight Tea and had a lovely time! The servers were so sweet, and it was such an intimate experience. The tea was delicious, the food lovely, and they even brought me an extra macaron for my birthday!
