Feats of Clay is a magical place with a Fine Art Gallery in the front & studio space in the back. Feats of Clay is a woman owned and operated ceramics studio that’s been around since 1976! We’re community driven, fun-loving and about as weird as Austin gets. Our private lessons let you recreate the iconic pottery scene from Ghost while making your very own piece to take home with you.

Great experience. I haven’t done clay in quite a while but taking the 6 week class with Frank (who’s a great teacher by the way!) and it was a lot of fun. You get to make a lot of pottery and everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable.

The ornament workshop was nice overall, but it felt pretty crowded. It also took a lot longer than expected to fire the pieces, even though they said everything would be ready before Christmas. I was really disappointed to find that my ornaments were shattered. On top of that, one of them was glazed the wrong color, even though I clearly wrote the correct color on my name tag. I just wish my work had been handled more carefully.

Feats is a fun, supportive, community of people. The studio space has super high ceilings which creates an expansive feel that allows your creativity to flow.

Love this place! Their new location is huge and lively, with loads of options for classes and workshops, amazing works by local artists for sale, and great staff + teachers. Make your clay dreams come true and snag a class series- you won’t regret it!

Feats of Clay is an Austin icon. It's been around for decades! I love that we have a locally owned, small pottery studio. I've taken a couple of 6 week classes here, most recently a Tuesday night class with Belen. She's wonderful - she has a relaxed, positive, supportive teaching style. There aren't "rules" and she encourages creativity - even for newbies. I can't wait to sign up for another session.

Went on a day when there were many artists selling their work. The studio was clean and well tended. I spoke at length with the supervisor. She answered all my questions and more. I'm looking for a new place to work and Feats is definitely a finalist.

Wife and I took a "throwing" class (clay on the wheel, pots, cups, vases, etc) and followed up a couple weeks later with a glazing class. We immensely enjoyed both classes and wish we could've gone longer. Staff has excellent chemistry with eachother and everyone seems knowledgeable and willing to teach and advise. Special shout out and high personal recommendations to learn with Earthy Ashley, Cannan, and Belèn. All fantastic teachers though I'm sure everyone in the shop is equally good. Highly recommend this place, the prices are good too.
