A deeper dive
Abraham Kennedy was born in Mexico in 1929 and crossed the Rio Grande with only what he could carry. He later became an icon in the Mexican-American community and developed a space for the social elite of his day to gather. Today, you can stay in his private villa and experience the history that is deeply rooted there.

An absolute delight of a place to stay. Custom interior painting done by Curiot is a big BIG plus. The experience is indescribably cool.

Wow the pictures don’t do it justice. The house is beautifully unique. Much larger and fancy than the pictures show. I went with a group of friends for a long weekend. Close enough to down town where Ubers are very cheap, while being far enough away where the scenery is quiet and beautiful. The house and pool are incredible. 10/10 recommend.

Well styled cocktail bar venue on Congress. Building has some neat architectural features such as a spiral staircase, and a draping garden outdoor patio on the back roof.
Bartenders were friendly, good service.
$1 East Coast oysters on Tuesdays until 10:00 p.m.
I attended a Valentine's Day event that was a private DJ'd dance party and burlesque show upstairs. The event was really good, too, but that's not particularly related to the venue. So if you're looking for a neat space to host your event, the back patio is cool and good weather.

I had the pleasure of organizing a brand photoshoot that was held at the Casa Cartel. It was truly a beautiful, and elegant spot! Easily one of Austin's most unquie hinden gems! If you are searching for a place to stay, hold a photoshoot, or host an event I would highly recomened the historic and lovely Casa Cartel!
