What a great spot for kids and adults! Nice paths, lots of signage, cool birds, a bobcat, turtles, and lots of different trees and flowers. Even with school field trips, it was a relaxing area. The staff were super friendly and helpful, one even providing a bit of info on some of their owls while she tended to them.
Parking is free but across the street, under the highway in a dirt lot. After a short hike, you get to the main building. The cost is cheap, but hopefully you feel compelled to donate more to help with their operating costs and improvement plans. There are a couple exhibits in the building, restrooms, and a discovery area (different rocks, fossils, small animal skeletons, etc). Outside, there are several play/picnic areas. Lots of benches on the trails, many in the shade. Simply a great place to spend a day.
