What makes it fun

Uroko is a place that serves 3 distinct concepts in 1 place. It has Temaki, an innovative way of serving sushi where you get to choose the ingredients and they make it right in front of you. It also offers cooking classes which are planned every month. Lastly, it provides delicious sushi omakase (sushi set menu) if you're hankering for some fresh fish but don't want to be overwhelmed with choices.

Great place and service. They had a very creative and unique omakase! I highly recommend it. The whole experience was pretty quick though very enjoyable.

Some of the omakase had this foam on top I hadn't seen anywhere else which was fantastic. And oh my... The beef omakase was a treat.

We have always loved the Temaki. Imaginative hand rolls and great veg options for those that don’t eat fish. Today we were also delighted with the Omakase experience. Will definitely continue to enjoy this place and it’s amazing quality/inventive sushi.

Husband and I had a great time! Complex flavor profiles, fresh fish, and very creative plating. Every bite was delicious and I loved the light shiso leaf under the pieces. Great textures paired with the right amount of rice and chew. The only con? We wanted to order more but the inventory is limited since the fish is imported from Japan lol great amount of nigiri for the omakase price point. We're from NYC (native, born and raised) and this is comparable to NYC quality and the express sushi joints there. I would say, it's better than Sushi by Bou (a similar sushi bar) in NYC. I'm sure we will be back!

It's clear that the team at Uroko truly cares about the fish they are serving. Exceptionally fresh, high quality, and thoughtfully presented. Hands down the best sushi rice in the city. A spectacular find, don't sleep on this place as it's an Austin gem.
