    What makes it fun

The majority of the museum collection consists of objects owned personally by the Former President and First Lady, all donated under the Presidential Libraries Act of 1955. There is also a full recreation of the Oval office as it was during LBJ's time in office. A fascinating curated collection any history buff is sure to love.

Very interesting museum that provides a good overview of the times and issues facing the United States in the sixties. Both LBJ's civil rights success and his Vietnam failure are both presented with reasonable objectivity. It was an unexpected treat to be able to listen to many of LBJ's phone conversations with historical figures of the time, like Martin Luther King, Herbert Humphrey, Edgar Hoover and many more.

I enjoyed this museum a lot more than I expected to. Lots of info, easy to navigate, fun way to spend two hours.

Waited 30 min to make a single turn on red river because of traffic for another event just to find it was closed for a special event. At least update your hours to reflect this fact. Apparently my chiropractor has more concern for his customers and his hours accuracy than the lbj library.

We always enjoy the presidential libraries. There is so much history and it's like stepping back in time. Really enjoyed it and may go back the next time we are in Austin.

This was a great stop while in Austin. Way better than I ever expected. There was so much I didn’t know about LBJ. We were there about 90 minutes and I bet I could go back another three hours and still not even see everything. If you like history this is a must stop.

A fitting and beautiful tribute to LBJ. Situated nicely on the campus of UT, parking is easy to find, and admission is affordable.Experience the highs and lows of LBJ's Presidency, life in politics, and personal life. Truly worth your time.

My son absolutely loved the dino pit, he could have dug for dinosaurs all day. I highly recommend if you have young children. It had many other activities and exhibits that could keep them entertained for hours.

I went on Juneteenth holiday so entry was free but I think it is normally 13 bucks. Should take around 75-120 minutes to go through the museum and gift shop. LBJ is one of my favorite presidents and we had a lot of fun visiting.

Beautiful space and with scheduled ticket times it’s actually BETTER with the process of pacing and spacing that has developed from pandemic constraints. You’ll learn about LBJ *and* Lady Bird. There was a temporary exhibit upstairs as well, featuring Mohammad Ali. I’d probably suggest you give yourself 90 minutes and my thinking is that children under 8 or 9 might not find enough engaging materials... but !hey! treat yourself to a date with your partner, gather some friends and make it part of a cultural/history exploration day, or for my true Presidential Library Fans... go alone!A few interesting products in the gift shop...
