    What makes it fun

Kinfolk was lovingly created from a passion for fine cocktails & spirits. The 20-seat bar is designed to feel like an extension of home, where friends are invited to enjoy a drink and relax after a long day's work. Kinfolk serves carefully crafted cocktails with their own unique collection of top-shelf whiskeys, scotch, mezcal, tequila and more. Complimenting the delightful drinks are a selection of local artisanal charcuteries, cheese, chocolate.

This is an outstanding bar for someone who likes spirit-forward drinks. Even as someone who prefers comparatively more refreshing drinks, I recognize that this menu is near perfect in achieving what it intends to be.The clear favorite is definitely the booziest milk punch I’ve ever had, and for me goes down easier after a bit of the ice has melted. I generally don’t like falernum in my drinks so I was pleasantly surprised that they found a way to make it blend well with the rest of the drink. There wasn’t a moment of silence as Ben told us about the history and process (down to the growing of the woods in the casks) that went into each drink, and his enthusiasm was admirable if not a bit overeager. This would probably be one of my favorite bars in the world if I preferred whiskey based cocktails!

Great place. Enjoyed the ambiance and our hostess was knowledgeable about her craft.

Amazing selection! We went here Saturday this past week for our wedding anniversary, the guys there I think their names were Brian and Cameron, we’re so nice and very helpful. My husband is a big scotch guy and he was in heaven there! We had dinner upstairs so we didn’t try the food offered there but we heard good things. Romantic atmosphere, fantastic service, delicious drinks. 10/10

My husband and I have been coming here once a month ever since they opened. From the owners to the bartenders to the valets, everyone here is like family. The drinks are incomparable and even if you know nothing about the different spirits, they will guide you to something you will love! I cannot recommend this place enough....I wish there were more than 5 stars to give!If you're looking to try new things, this is your spot. If you're looking for a cool date night, this is your spot. If you're looking to go just enjoy some cocktails with friends, this is your spot.Come for the drinks, the intimate atmosphere and the history...then keep coming back for all of that and the impeccable service.

Beneath the Moonshine there shines a brighter star. Kinfolk.Kinfolk requires a reservation and it should. Not only because it is very small and quaint but because this is the kind of place you don’t want droves of people mulling around you as you would find upstairs (not a knock on Moonshine Grill - love it too). This place takes you back in time. The staff make you feel appreciated. The handcrafted cocktails ease your soul. The ambiance is perfect. At first we thought an hour and a half was too short a timeframe when we reserved. This is wrong. It was way too much time. Well I lie, you want to stay longer but the cocktails tell your body it’s time to go.We will be back. Hopefully sooner than later.Until then for those that are uncertain on attending this place, just do it.To be honest, the pricing may be just a little too cheap for the power these cocktails hold. And if you are wondering how much that is exactly, we’ll just say they are not more than any other nicer place in Austin.

The type of Modern Speakeasy that Austin Needs, especially for Whisky drinkers and liquor connoisseurs .You check into Moonshine Grill, and when your reservation is ready, you are taken down a set of stairs, through a door into the tiny cellar located downstairs. At first, it blows you away and as you adjust to the space, it gets more intriguing and cozy. The space is quite tiny, cozy, very dim, and delivers on a personal level. There is a small bar with a dedicate bar staff, BUT, the "community table" and "library" is where the magic happens. The library surrounds the community table, which is spacious enough to move intimately around the people present. Their collection of rum, and whisky would satisfy any rum/whisky drinker. These are the selections I was paying attention to mainly. The staff in the lounge are super welcoming, friendly and easy to have a conversation with. They give extremely great recommendations and take you through a journey when it comes to their libations. I had a great time sampling some of their whisky collection, and they also provided me with dropper where I could experiment opening up the whisky flavors. That's how you know a spot knows their whisky. The space is great. The staff is great. The atmosphere is cozy. The drinks are bomb; a definite must try. One thing that I loved at this place is the prices of their drinks - by no means are over the top. I think the drinks are extremely fairly priced, and of high quality. While it is reservation only, but hands down worth the wait to get one.
