Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, we found this place while passing through Austin and LOVED it. Very interesting and intriguing exhibit. The artist was there, so we spent some time hearing his story first-hand. Highly recommended for a quick stop to appreciate the dedication the artist has taken to this project. Donations accepted, but it's free to check out.

Fun corky place to visit. I was unsure what to expect going in. The artist sits at the door explaining the layout of the structure and letting you in. He does not charge and says there is a donation box at the exit if you enjoy it, no pressure at all.

Absolutely incredible!! So glad this exists and thankful that Vince shares it so generously with the Austin community so generously!

Very chill and friendly proprietor! The cathedral is a beautiful work of art, and such a uniquely Austin location. This is a must visit for anyone coming through town! (Remember to call ahead though)

A unique and fun backyard experience in an otherwise typical suburban neighborhood. Called 30 minutes ahead on a weekday afternoon in May, and the artist/owner/resident told us to come and gave us parking instructions. I’ve been to the Heidelberg Project in Detroit & Randyland in Pittsburgh, and Cathedral of Junk was unique in that it’s a true solid structure, with winding corridors and a climbable “dome.” Lots of fun details to discover and very kid-friendly as well. We spent a couple hours just exploring and watching my daughter play with the cars and go down the slide. She didn’t want to leave.Recommend bringing cash for a donation and wearing mosquito repellent.

This place is so cool! This is really a work of art in the way that he has placed every single detail in such a manner that it fits! And how he has built a cathedral to walk through and around is amazing! All the small trinkets and small treasures hidden within this masterpiece is fun to look through and find. Vince was super cool in letting us in even though we didn't call ahead of time BUT I would recommend calling ahead of time and reserving a time to go visit. It is by donation so it is well worth a little bit of time to stop by and see this pretty cool spot. Vince is super friendly and welcoming! Have fun!

We called the owner, Vince, two hours before we arrived to see if we could see the attraction. Vince said he will be there for us to see it and told us a place to park. He was very nice and the Cathedral of Junk was really neat. You could spend so much time just looking at different parts of it and identifying things. He even has the main room of the structure color coordinated, so it is more appealing. The Cathedral has three different levels and some stairs made of tires.

Really eccentric art sculpture made in Vince's yard. It's neat to climb the cathedral and take pictures of all the cool finds! The slide and throne are super fun for photos. You can visit by appointment only, and Vince asks for a donation.

Make sure you call to set up an appointment to see all of the cool stuff. Also make sure you bring cash for a donation. We had a great time everything was so cool looking inside of the concrete a lot of old school stuff built inside of the concrete and I really liked the way the glass bottles are inside of the concrete amazing how it was put together
