1) Texas Capitol~ Elegance & Sophistication
If you and your sweetheart are history fans, you obviously have to visit the Texas Capitol. The grounds surrounding the Capitol are beautiful and inside the Capitol you’ll find more beauty and rich history. In 1986, the Capitol was named a National Historic Landmark. Take a tour of the Capitol and you’ll get to hear all about the rich history of the building as well as the historical happenings in the building.
2) Texas Governor’s Mansion~ Gorgeous & Historic
The Texas Governor’s Mansion is a gorgeous and historic mansion located near the Texas Capitol. The Governor’s Mansion was build in 1854 and has been the home of every Texas governor since 1856. It’s the fourth oldest continuously occupied governor’s residence in the country and the oldest governor’s mansion west of the Mississippi River. Make a reservation for a free tour of the mansion for a peak inside the beautiful and historic site.
3) LBJ Presidential Library~ Presidential Prestige
The LBJ Presidential Library is a great spot to spend a few hours with your sweetheart learning about the 36th President of the United States, Texas native, Lyndon Baines Johnson. The LBJ Presidential Library has nine permanent exhibits including an LBJ animatronic, a replica of LBJ’s Oval Office, and the LBJ Presidential limousine. The LBJ Presidential Library honors not only LBJ and his life and time as president, but also his wife Lady Bird with a Lady Bird Gallery and a replica of Lady Bird’s office.
